Super Mario is the fictional main character in the popular Super Mario Brothers video game that was created by Shigeru Miyamoto for Nintendo. Mario Bros has become an international sensation and has been featured in more than 200 video games in various genres, such as sports games, role-playing, puzzle, fighting, and racing, although he is most popular in platform games.

Super Mario is shown as a short and plump plumber who is Italian-American and is a resident of the Mushroom Kingdom. This kingdom is ruled by a monarchy and Princess Peach is the heir to the throne. In the game Super Mario Brothers, Mario is joined by his brother Luigi and their goal is to save Princess Peach from the villain, Bowser. There are eight worlds with each world divided into four sub-levels. The fourth sub-level is always located in a castle where Mario or Luigi has to fight King Koopa, who turns out to be fake, until they reach the eighth world where they fight the genuine King Koopa.

Mario, which also became the mascot for Nintendo, is always shown wearing a red cap with the letter M in front. He has big eyes, a mustache, and a big oblong-shaped nose. He wears a red long-sleeves shirt, blue overalls, and white gloves. Therefore, Super Mario costumes are often composed of a red cap, mustache, gloves, long-sleeved red shirt, blue overalls, and boots.
